Critics have referenced lots of genres when describing the sound of Danish outfit Lukas Graham. Pop and R&B is the most prominent, but folk and hip-hop have bubbled up as well. Sounds like the band - Lukas Forchhammer, Mark Falgren, and Magnus Larsson - has cast a wide net when it comes to establishing a direction, but ultimately Lukas Graham's music connects with listeners because of its focus. Forchhammer's plaintive voice is always up front, always compelling. When the group busted out of its regional circle with a 2016 Grammy nom for the luminous " 7 Years," the world began to understand its powerful way with a heartfelt ballad. Now they've just dropped '3 (The Purple Album)' and it's as strong as their previous efforts. We invited the band in for performances of "Love Someone" and "Stick Around."
